AT&T LG Vu Ringtone Problem Fixs

Posted: 16 Apr 2010 08:41 AM PDT

Many lg Vu users for AT&T say that When they transfer their ringtones from  old phone to the Vu phone, while the music plays in the music player but cannot set it as ringtone, though they make sure the ringtone is in MP3 format, it is not a copy writed ringtone, and it is only 150kbs. The error message notes them that “on-acceptable content”. As this problem, there some solutions for it.

Firstly, as we known, the limit for the ringtone size is 300kbs Max,s os it’s safer to keep it under 300 when you create/download a ringtone to the Vu since sometimes it saves it as a slightly bigger file.  300kbs song clip is about 19-20 seconds of play. If file is too big, Vu will say either “File too big to set as ringtone” or simply “Failed” when you try to set it as your ringtone. AT&T cell phone Questions&Answers

Secondly, In MP3 format, the ringtone sounds most clear , Ringtone will work under WAV/WMA format as well, but sounds quality is significantly decreased.  Saving under WAV/WMA will give you more song for less kbs. If your ringtone meets the the criterions above, then you should be able to set it as ringtone.
Thirdly, if you experience the error message “non-acceptable content”,   then the issue is that you need to put in the information of the song, or at least put “unknown” in the artist and genre section and clear out any other unnecessary info. (you can see full info of your ringtone on the Vu when you are in the media playing it, hit pause, then hit options, scroll down to ‘information’). However, You can only change the information/ properties from your PC.  From your PC, you right click properties on the ringtone, and modify the ’summary’ detail tab under ‘advanced’ by double clicking next to the field you want to modify. Then you put the microSD chip back into your Vu , and then you can now set it as your ringtone.
